I am a teacher of English KS3 -KS5 (11-18 in old money!) and I graduated in 2011 with MA in Creative and Critical Writing. For my final dissertation I wrote a volume of poetry; however, I also wrote short stories, some teen fiction, and inverted fairy tales such as Cinderella. Jane Eyre on a road trip in a Mini Cooper is a particular favourite from this writing time.
In 2007 I co-wrote “Amy’s Diary” with Anne Collis of Social Interface for the Fostering Network. IT was the most exciting time of my life and I was privileged and humbled listening to Looked after Children read excerpts. The same year I was lucky enough to get a poem published with the National Women’s Coalition. in 2004/5 I attended Cwmni Dryw’s Arts in Health course following on from The Academi Pilot’s project Reaching for Words with Rose Flint in 2003. I have attended numerous courses at TY Newydd, in Llanystumdwy, and my dream is to study there with Gwyneth Lewis. My favourite part of the week is the lunchtime writing group that my sixth form students run: their work is fresh, innovative and exciting and I’m constantly surprised at what they achieve in a concentrated span of forty minutes. I cannot wait to get to grips with their anthology. I would be happy to offer small group courses to individuals starting out or wanting to refresh their skills.
